The clay pot might survive, but it might heat up the ball enough to met it or burn it.
Make a stand that ensures the focal point will never hit anything and you will have something sunlight safe.

Such a good question? So difficult to answer.
Watching others in all sorts of movement and advance to look for inspiration.
Trying to work out what I think makes excellent ball contact juggling.
Efficiency of motion.
Control.
What feels good.
